Hello all. I am wrapping up my BS in IS and am deciding where to go from here. I’m in the process of finding an internship to get some experience as I still have a semester left. My parents are offering to pay for graduate school, and I have the option to pursue a Masters in Cybersecurity. It’s my understanding that certifications are more highly valued than degrees. Either way, I intend on obtaining certifications. Would it be a waste of time to get the Masters with no work experience, and would I be better off working and obtaining certifications right off the bat? I’m lucky to have the opportunity to go to graduate school, and I don’t want to necessarily throw that off the table.
TLDR I have the opportunity to get a graduate degree in cybersecurity, I’m aware of the importance of certifications, I’m willing to do both, is the degree going to be a waste of time
