Anxious About Keyloggers–Please Help explain them to me

Recently, I’ve been very anxious about keyloggers after learning about their existence. I’m not very tech savvy, so I was wondering if someone here could please explain to me the likelihood of being attacked by a keylogger.

My worry stems from the fact that recently a google chrome extension appeared on my browser that I did not download. Even though I was able to easily remove it and have not
suffered any noticeable problems to my accounts or my computer, I am still anxious. I have since scanned my pc with Malwarebytes and Windows Security but I’m unsure if that is enough. I would appreciate it if someone could please help me understand the likelihood of being attacked by a keylogger, and whether or not I am making a big deal over nothing.

Thank you so much!!

If your computer doesn’t show signs of having a virus, you don’t have any suspicious programs or extensions, and different AV scans don’t find anything, then it’s very unlikely that you have one.
If you want to be really sure, run HitmanPro, it’ll find anything if there is anything.
