My local community college offers a Cyber Defense 1 Year program. To quote the website:”*This 30-credit certificate is designed to prepare students for a career in computer and networking security. The program will help prepare students for the following certifications: CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Security+ and EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).*”
“*Skills & Knowledge: Learn the OSI Reference Model, Manage Cisco router hardware and the Cisco Internet Operating System, Analyze organization network needs and implement networks, Describe and identify common security threats and attacks, Apply a common ethical hacking methodology for penetration tests*”
I have no previous IT experience, I know zero coding languages, but I am good at math. What should I know before enrolling in this course, or anything like it? This is a technical college, so bear in mind that most students don’t have anything higher than a high school diploma or a GED or some other equivalent.
