I should start off to say I have little knowledge of cybersecurity as a whole, but I am interested in seeing if this is a path I want to take. I have been teaching myself web development and am thoroughly enjoying it, but I wanted to branch out and see if another field would interest me before diving deeper into webdev. (I’ve been following this roadmap [https://roadmap.sh/frontend](https://roadmap.sh/frontend))
I realize cybersecurity is a massive field and I would need to narrow down my interest. That being said, would Nathan House’s four volume course be a useful introduction into the field to aid in that endeavor, or would I be better off just going straight to certs? I feel like I shouldn’t sign up and spend a lot money on the certs if there’s a chance I won’t enjoy it. Also, I already have access to his four courses on udemy so part of me doesn’t want to waste them. (I DO know am I at least slightly interested in network security, if that helps, and House does have a course on that.)
I want to make sure I’m not wasting my time learning through inefficient means, so any advice is appreciated!
