I’m pretty sure somebody at some point has asked this question but I need to know myself:

I’ll be starting school for cybersecurity soon, either summer or next fall but I know for a fact that programming isn’t my thing AT ALL. I hate it with a passion.

What jobs can I do that don’t involve programming? Or with minor programming?

I’m just so excited to start. I just wanna know what’s out there.

Are your jobs M-F? Occasional weekends? Can you actually have a life?

I would say most cybersecurity jobs involve none to basic programming. I have a 9-5 job in infosec management in a DevOps org.

Cybersecurity is a HUGE industry. There’s plenty of jobs that don’t require coding:

SOC, vuln scanning, remediation chasing and assistance, threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, reporting and pm functions, SAST/DAST/MAST/container/binary scanning… And a ton of other ones.

M-F is normal for corporate, but depending on your function there might be on call (be available for nights and weekends for a week every few months or whatever). Smaller places or startups will have their own specific setup.
