Attempted hack using Netflix, or something less sinister?

My email is of a format like [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). I got 2 emails today from Netflix, one ‘Welcome’ and one ‘Your phone number has been added’, to [email protected] (without dot). I contacted Netflix customer services to ask about this but wasn’t very re-assured by their response.

I apologise if this is not the right subreddit for this type of thing. Is this just someone who has a similar email to me and mistyped, or should I be worried by this? This is a transcript of the conversation I had with Netflix customer services.
