I performed a full system scan, BD detected a few “threats” (which were all false positives), and automatically placed them into quarantine.
I promptly went into the ‘Quarantine’ tab of the Free Edition, and managed to restore all files _except_ one, a DLL file that already gave me issues with antiviruses in the past. Upon pressing the “restore” icon, a message titled “ERROR” appears, with the text: “The file could not be restored”, and an “OK” button below to dismiss it.
I need that file, but given that BD doesn’t let me restore it from the program itself, how am I supposed to do it? Is there any way to restore it from the program’s files themselves, rather than from within the program?
Other than that, there are a couple of folders (both system and program folders) that have been giving me issues in regards to editing/copying/pasting/deleting and won’t let me take full ownership of them, although I am the administrator on the system. Given that it seems that this might be caused by BD itself (source: https://www.reddit.com/r/BitDefender/comments/ivpwez/beware_btidefender_2021_might_cause_you_a) I am probably going to switch to another free antivirus solution, as I really don’t have neither the will or time to deal with this kind of crap.
Any suggestion will be thoroughly appreciated.
