Building a profile for malware analysts jobs.

I’m going to be starting my Masters in Cybersec in coming fall. My goal is to do malware analysis and reverse engineering. I have few years exp in software development but not cybersec so just starting with it. How do you think I should best utilize my 2 years and build a strong profile for job interviews in malware analysis?

1. Should I do GREM cert if that’ll help me give a head start and create a roadmap for me for things to be learned?

2. Should I do any other cert like OSCP etc if that’ll help recruiters shortlist my profile?

3. Also, should I go for other security profile and move to malware analysis later if I’m just starting with it? Though I really want to land where I want in the first go itself. Want to work in antivirus labs and on malwares.

4. What exactly are recruiters looking for?

P.S. – I know experience with malware analysis is anytime better than certs but if cert could give me a push into the world, that’ll help. Any kind of suggestions are welcome.
