I’ve been searching for like 2 weeks now.

Is a entry lvl helpdesk/technical support/call center type job the only option for some1 with 0 IT experience? Looking at those jobs, pay sucks, like 14-16/hour for ones that requires like no IT experience..maybe thats expected? Is this where most ppl new to IT start? with low paying helpdesk jobs? If thats what it is, then fine, okay, it’s understandable.

I’ve read company reviews for these low pay help desk jobs and some ppl say they dont train you well, customers bring up problems that you dont have any solution to and blah blah blah..maybe its just idiots complaining and they were shitty at their job, who knows.

But I want to to start getting experience asap. **End goal is cybersecurity career.**

Help desk at that pay is what I’d expect, and yes those stories sound accurate, but I don’t believe that’s every call. Some people are nice even if they are having issues. And if you want to make it in cybersecurity, you’ll need to be able to learn. I’d say take a help desk job, excel at it in the first three months, apply to 100 other jobs more advanced than that and land that new job, learn more and excel at it, and then repeat until you have a lot of knowledge about tons of technologies so that you’ll understand what you’re trying to break/defend in your eventual security job.

That’s just some thoughts, I’m sure you’r path will be slightly different. But hard work will pay.
