I have 10+ background in IT as a Project Manager, but I am not tech person. I have basic knowlege: HTML/CSS, C, can install and configure Linux/Win, can asemble PC or clean/reasemble laptop etc. My security knowlege is almost none.
I know that one yer learning time or 6 month of bootcamp won’t make me cyber sec junior but… I have to try learn. Meaby in five yers time I be able to join some security company in my city i.e. at SOC.
My queetiin is, how to start? What path to take? I know it depends on my desired job (red or blue team, dev or ops sec etc.). But I ask about some basics.
Should I do CS50 first? Meaby FCC, to gain programming basics? Or start CompTIA Network, Security, Pen or CSA (this is their security path). And I have to take future job possibilities – I’d love to work remote.
So what’s your advice?
