I’ve been working as a DOD Contractor for the last 3 or 4 months after my military service and finally passed my Security+ which was required for my position. I was wondering what would be the next logical certification to pursue for career advancement? I took this job as a basic introduction job into cybersecurity so I want to continue refining my skillset to strengthen my resume, but I am not quite sure where I want to take it.
I was doing some research on the DOD approved baseline certifications and I was wondering if I should look into a few other IAT II certifications, like CySA+, or if I should widen my skillset with an IAM II cert like CASP+?
I was also interested in the prospects of tests like CEH and CompTIA’s PenTest+. Are they worth investing in? Or should I try and find a job that will expose me to more of the pen testing side of cybersecurity?
