There seems to be a known issue which began sometime around October 25, 2021 according to [this support article]( on the ZoneAlarm site. The article indicates that users of anything other than Windows 7 or 10 should contact Support for assistance.

I have done so, after following the uninstall/reinstall/Clean routine outlined in the article . The tech support rep I chatted with seemed to think the product would still work on a Windows 8.1 installation, but none of her suggestions have worked. Reinstalling sees the newest definitions downloaded as part of the install process, and it operates normally for two days or so. But the next time it tries to update antivirus/antispyware definitions, it fails. The firewall component of Antivirus+Firewall seems to be unaffected and continues to work properly.

Anyone else having issues and have something more constructive from Check Point to share?
