Hello, I recently changed my major to Cyber Security. My school lists these options I can choose as an emphasis in the Cyber Security degree.
“The Cyber Defense emphasis combines both networking and systems administration fundamentals with a focus on defensive strategies to securing networks and systems.
The Digital Forensics emphasis places emphasis on investigative techniques and digital forensic analysis applicable to computers, mobile, and network devices.
The Information Assurance emphasis places more emphasis on computer operating systems, network security, and incident response to security threats.
The Network Security Administration emphasis combines networking fundamentals with the requisite network security concepts and best practices required to implement and administer secure network environments.
The System Security Administration emphasis combines systems administration fundamentals with the requisite security concepts and best practices required to implement, administer, and harden operating systems.”
I know I want to get the CEH, CISSP, AWS, and CCNA. I want to do penetration testing, but I also want to do more hands-on networking things like setting up systems and maintaining them. Which of these options should I choose? They all sound like the same exact thing. What’s the difference?
