Hi All,

I’m currently going to school online for cybersecurity with a focus on digital forensics. I’m not currently in the cybersecurity field, so I’m wondering, what are the most universally accepted certificates a forensic examiner could have? So far I found four different types offered by four different companies. So, I’m curious if any of you have any opinions.

Thanks.

The SANS certs are well respected.

The CFCE by IACIS is also very widely accepted and known.

I’d add in the CCE as an entry-level cert.

    I’d avoid the CHFI.

The best tool-centered one (as far as being well known and respected) is the EnCE.

The ACE from FTK is free (or was way back when I took it) so that might not be a bad way to go.

But you want a vendor neutral cert as your primary, IMHO.
