Do the major antivirus labs actually read user’s suspicious malware/false-positive submissions?

Hi guys,

I just submitted a possible false-positive file to Avira and I wondered if the guys will actually read and respond to my submission. We all have experience of sending an error report to Microsoft and we know it doesn’t make any difference.

What’s the common practice among antivirus labs guys? Do they actually read user’s submissions and respond or do they just use them as a future database for their research? If I’m just adding one more row to their database by submitting a suspicious file / possible false-positive file, then I’m probably just wasting my time.

Does any of you have related experience?
