After completing my first year of a four year cybersecurity program, I found myself wanting to dig deeper into topics that were lightly touched on in intro level classes. During the summer, I would like to take time to learn more on my own, and do some hands-on work as well.
I am looking for any book recommendations (not textbook) that provide interesting insight into the cybersecurity field. One of my personal goals this summer is to read a few books, as well as set up a VM to make my own lab environments. I would also appreciate any resources for setting up personal labs in linux (setting up networks, firewall rules, basic commands etc).
Any additional resources you have outside of what I mentioned are still welcome! I’m relatively new to this sub so I hope this post is in the right place. Any piece of advice/information will be extremely valuable to me.
