Found a family member playing with Root kit..

My 63 y.o. mother thinks she the real sudo su tapping away on a terminal from her pc. She has been relying on some popular sources for doing this via github, XDA, and she’s been at this like years now messing with her Android device..

My question is, how the hell do i get her to stop? She a windows Home user and thinks she can play in a sandbox because she learned how to flash boot.img and su – ssh .. but i know she’s not interested in learning HOW to write scripts or how file system works , nor she aware of the power she has..

Should i leave her be — or am i I over reacting?

The people who she gets the binary from and super user script had some sketchy stuff part of their suite of tools. Like busybox built-in with conspy, and kernel exploitation for specific kernels.. but if i had to guess i think they’re honestly trying to get noobs like her to compromise her chromebook and Google account for Google reward or bug bounty’s…

I’m New to this kinda stuff too but am interested in a different way than she.. where she wants a cool terminal, i wanna know what processes are, every uid, gid, pid, what scripts do, best practices and why. She totally opposite. Help 😂
