How often do malware affect mice?

Asking because my mouse has been acting wonky, mainly, left click refusing to work sometimes. It’s especially noticeable on games like people playground, where, if I don’t click the mouse hard enough, it’s impossible to pick up anything.

I tried another mouse on my computer and it ran semi-smoothly. Ingame everything was good, but in google, on one occassion, it refused to right click and had some stuttering (granted the mouse is like 6 years old so you can’t expect it to work perfectly). The problematic mouse is roughly 3 years old and it was a cheap offbrand “AULA” mouse.

I’m less worried about the fact that my mouse is broken and more worried about the fact that it could be malware. I’ve ran several normal scans on MB as well as several full scans on Kaspersky Security Cloud. I also ran RogueKiller yesterday.

So, with all that out of the way, is it a virus or is my mouse just old and broken?
