Hello! I’m a 1st year SE student that wonders about how I can get into cyber security.
At the beginning, I started this degree because I always liked the idea of developing, knowing how every app, game, software and even websites works behind the scenes. Since then, I came to realize that there are more career paths than just developing. Acquaintances told me about cyber security/malware analysis/penetration testing and for a while now I really think that I might like it even more than strictly developing.
My question is – as a SE student, what steps I can do in order to find an internship in this area on my 2nd/3rd year? First of all, what are the roles I could do as a student/bachelor, and then how can I achieve that? What languages should I learn, what courses to take, etc.
Every bit of information will be so helpful, thank you guys!
Edit: an acquaintance of mine works at an international cyber company and he told me that SE students/bachelors can get into malware analyzing/malware reverse engineering, what do you think?
