How well would cyber security in Air Force play into the real world

I’ve always wanted to go into the military, but I want to get a job in the military that could set me up in the real world. Would I still have to go to college for cyber security even if I went into the Air Force with cyber security being my job?

I think that would depend largely on the particular employer you’d apply to. Maybe a computer science degree wouldn’t hurt, but at the end of the day if you are skilled in the tools/tactics/techniques that’s what’s valuable (at least in my opinion).

One of the industry leading cyber courses I’ve taken was led by an Air Force veteran (his specific rank and job escapes me at the moment).

As an aside, I think some of the training you get in the Air Force qualifies for college credits anyway.

Either way, best of luck!
