Hey all, so just a little background info, I am a high school senior. I planned on majoring in computer science specializing in cyber security. The issue I am running into is costs. Out of all the schools I applied to, the cheapest I have gotten is around $95,000 total ($23,000 per year). I know netsec jobs have higher paying salaries, so taking a hit like this with this degree would be better off, but I am really unsure because I am not getting a dollar from my parents and I am not really getting anything from the government because my parents make a lot of money (they made poor choices though and don’t have any to spare). Anyways though, I want to ask you guys what you think I should do. I would absolutely hate to take on a financial burden as big as that, but really want to pursue my dream in this field. In addition to this, my high school life was awful, and I wanted to go to college and try and get some enjoyment out of my life (unrelated to the financial issue yes, but it is an incentive for why I want to go). Any advice or thoughts would be very appreciated.
