First off, I’d like to apologize if this post breaks rule 1.
Second of all, I’m going to sleep after I post this so I’ll read through your replies in the morning. Now onto the post
Long story short, my entire family has been very tech-involved (or at least that’s the best way I can put it). One thing lead to another and I got interested in choosing cybersecurity for my major in college. The only problem is that I only have an inkling of what the cybersecurity field is actually made up of, and what a typical cybersecurity major would go through in college. So I guess that leaves me with three questions for you guys:
1: Are there any resources out there explaining the various fields of cybersecurity?
2: Are there any colleges you guys (or any other resource) would recommend applying to if I do happen to major in cybersecurity?
3: What are some reasonable expectations I should have for college life (what classes I would take for the major, what certifications should I pursue, if any, etc etc), and what are some reasonable expectations for life immediately after finishing college?
I apologize if this post is very vague, low-effort, or otherwise disinteresting, but I’d say my knowledge on this field is next to nothing, despite my interest in it. Thanks for any and all help :]
