Is it possible to get a job in cyber security with only an associate’s degree?

I am about to finish school with an associate’s degree in cyber security. I’m not sure what jobs I can get in the field with this degree as most job postings want a BS. Have any of you had luck with an AS or should I go back to school for a BS in cyber security?

Way more than your degree, I look at the rest of your resume. Do you have any professional experience in networking? Administration? Support? Do you have a github account where I can see some of your work that shows me you’re interested in the field? Any indication that you’re doing some CTF stuff, maybe hackthebox or something like that?

Screw the degree. A BS is the BS HR is looking for. What I’m looking for is someone who can show me they want to do it so much that they sat down and did what they can do about it in their spare time and now want to make that hobby a profession. That’s the type I’m looking for.

I’m in the same boat. Graduating with an associates in IT Infrastructure/Cyber security in may. I have no prior IT experience so its gonna be hard for me to find a good job right away. Anyone have ideas for what entry level positions we could look into?

I wouldn’t pursue a degree when you could gain experience. Experience trumps a degree right now hands down. Just keep learning and looking for opportunities!
