As a senior in high school who wants to work in the cybersecurity field, should I go to college for cybersecurity? I’ve seen from many experts and people that work in the field that you don’t need to go to college so I’m just tying to figure out if it would be worth it or not.

Practical experience and knowledge is key.

Some shops require an advanced degree, or certs. Others don’t.

Everyone wants you to have experience.

Try out something where you can get practical knowledge and experience, TryHackMe, hackthebox, etc. Even studying on YouTube.

Maybe you don’t need to, but you should. «Easy» way of starting to build a proper cybersecurity résumé.

Experience is more important than a degree, however a lot of places still use the degree as a “check in the box” for applicants. Probably the best use for college is to get internships to gain experience, then you have both at the end and become even more marketable

    No, it’s even discouraged /s

What question is this? Are you talented already? Did you author a CVE when you were 16?

    No? Then go study.

Yes? Then secret services are begging you already to work for them. But in that case, you would not be asking questions, you would be busy with actually doing things.
