Premise: I know very little to none about anything I’m going to talk about in this thread
Also, I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask this question, so I’m sorry in advance if it isn’t the right place and please let me know, also excuse my weak English as it is not my native language
So, there is this website going around that literally takes articles from Wikipedia and translates them automatically according to your preferred device language. It is super easy to find while googling and often appears on top of Wikipedia itself.
The thing is, I was doing some researches few weeks ago for my college and came upon this website. Unconsciously clicked on it and read the whole article mindlessly. I came across the same website today and avast antivirus blocked it as URL:scam. I know there was a Trojan back in the days called qza that would compromise the notepad app and I know that wiki is a type of ransomware. I seriously can’t find any thread or discussion about this website, except for one question on Quora which didn’t solve any of my suspicions.
I’ve checked qza wiki URL on many sites like VirusTotal or URLscan.io, but it seems like it has no malware in it and it isn’t blacklisted anywhere, also until now I haven’t encountered any issue with my PC, but of course I can’t know for certain. Next time I will pay more attention to what site I’m going into, but should I be considered safe or should I start to get paranoid that my device has been infected somehow?
