Is there a way to automatically stop/start charging a laptop?

I’m using a Vaio VGN-CR353 on Windows 7. And I keep it plugged in all the time. Is there a way so that it starts/stops charging at a certain battery percentage?

the charger automatically stops charging when the battery is fully charged

When the battery reaches a full charge the charging shuts off and the system only keeps the battery maintained at a full charge, you do not have to do any thing or install any programs. My lap tops stay plugged in and on 24/7 with no problems, I do run once a month on battery to cycle the charge. If in doubt read the lap top user guide / manual section on battery, replacing, charging.
