I recently finished my degree in an engineering subject and the only bits I enjoyed were actually computer science/Cyber Security, so I’m looking at very junior roles like that. One role I’ve seen was working as an apprentice for an NHS trust which sounds like it would be good but they want someone who has actual experience using cyber security tools and carrying out forensics for 22k max and I only have one of those. Is this a normal salary for someone with actual cyber security experience in the UK? It seems low, everyone I know who did computer science is earning more. It’s in Oxford so not exactly cheap as far as I know.
