Yes. It’s reality. Perception of a company and its employees impacts profit. If you are a risk, you are tossed out, right or wrong.
To be clear I’m neither in support of or against this business practice. Moderation is key. There are instances where I would support it and instances where it likely a bit overboard. I feel like more context is missing from the OP linked here than is put on.
Read this when he posted it too.. in my own experience, I know people that have worked in federal positions that had been severely reprimanded for what they posted on their private social media.. but they were “friends” with people that saw what was posted. They were not fired, but damn near close. For context, what was posted was I think two people complaining about a supervisor, but not naming anyone or department in particular. My own experience on this…
