Inexplicably, I find myself starting a job in the cybersecurity field later this month. I like to think I’m computer savvy, but I’m somewhat underqualified for the position. I’ll be receiving training by the company (eventually), but I’d like to develop myself quickly so I can prove to be a helpful and professional employee. I’d like this to be my permanent career, but I understand how much there is to learn.
Beyond certifications or a college degree (I’m working on both), are there any blogs, podcasts, YouTube channels, etc, that I should include in my daily internet wanderings? I find that even if they aren’t aimed towards education, immersing myself in a field breeds familiarity with the topic.
Books would be good too, as long as they’re not textbooks. I’m kind of up to my eyeballs in textbooks. Thanks!
