Moving from a systems administrator role to cyber security role.

I am currently 5 years into my IT career and work for a large MSP as a systems administrator. I mainly focus on Linux administration. I do have experience with things like Citrix, VMware, vcenter, windows administration, very little network. I have no degree and no certifications. I would like to transition into a cyber security role. I listen to a lot of cyber sec podcast. For study I currently use tryhackme and am looking at maybe getting my eJPT because I am a hands on learner and anything that is practical sticks with me way better than reading books and trying to regurgitate the knowledge for a test.

That being said what roles could I look into to get my foot in the door in cyber security? Team wise I really enjoy red team. I’m assuming because I already work at an MSP investigation is something I already do in active enterprise environments so I’m sure blue team isn’t so far fetched. A lot of the jobs I see most state they are looking for 2 plus years of cyber. I need somewhere I can start to get that experience I work hard and an willing to put in. The time.
