Multiple unsuccessful attemps to log into my Microsoft Account

My authenticator apped pinged at me a few minutes ago, asking to approve/deny access to my microsoft account because of a ‘new log-in attempt;. This wasn’t me, so I obviously clicked the deny button.

I have just logged in to my microsoft account and checked recent activity, and have seen 30+ unsuccessful attemps to log into my account over the last 30 days. The majority of them from the US, but a few from Turkey, South Africa, Poland etc.

Obviously they have been unsuccessful, so I am not overly worried. Just wondered if there were any extra steps I could take? Someone has clearly got my account details from somewhere and people all over the world are trying…

The Authenticator app only gets activated after they enter the correct password, so they know your password and you should definitely change it. If you use that same password elsewhere, make sure those get changed to unique passwords.
