Hi guys!!!! I was a golang developer (fresher) in a MNC for around 4 months, but when covid-19 hit my company dissolved the project and i was put on bench until February 2021 where i decided to take up a production support job and have been working on it from 4 months.
I have been interested in cybersecurity from quite a while(reading articles, blogs news Etc…) but never took it seriously, So i decided to take the Comptia Security + SYO-501 in the July 2021. So to prepare for that I refer the Darril Gibson GCGA book and Dion Udemy course. Along with that was thinking to Start the TryHackMe Linux Beginner course and study the Top Down Approach book for network concepts. I know the latter part is not required for the Security + exam, but would be required for cybersecurity as whole.
After getting my Security+ cert , I would start with the TheCyberMentor course for penetration testing and with that would do python programming course, to learn basic and advance. Would like to create some projects as to test my skills in python and showcase on resume.
The above plan might take 6 months I guess. In this period I would like to start a security blog in medium or own website to share and keep my knowledge documented. Along with that maybe work on few freelance project in upwork and non profits NGOs or schools.
I would start with OSCP preparation in January 2022 and hopefully within 6 months i would be able to crack OSCP.
This is my plan for the next 1 year.
I would really love if you could help me out with some other ideas for cracking into the cybersecurity field quicker or in a more efficient way. And what are your thoughts about the above plan.
My ultimate goal is to become so skilled that i am able to be a digital nomad. Can work whenever i want and from wherever i want.
