Non-CS Major Looking For Input

Hello! I’m 27 looking to get into cyber security but did my undergrad in Exercise Science. Since graduating, I’ve opened a gym which has been incredibly rewarding and profitable since lockdowns ended. That being said, owning a business isn’t for the faint of heart and I’m trying to develop a backup career. Owning a business that is up and operationally sound leaves me with a fair amount of free time.

I’ve had an interest in CS for the last couple years and even wished I would’ve gone down the CS path in my undergrad. Can’t rewind the clock though. SO, I have been submitting applications to various Master’s programs. Some have been rejected for being a non-Computer Science major which has been annoying.

I’m looking for feedback here. Would it be wise to do self learning for 2 years where I attain certificates independently of academia, go to through academia to use connections and have a set curriculum, or do go back for an Associate’s or another bachelor’s?

Also, does University name matter for this field when it comes to job placement?
