Not getting interviews, what else should i be doing?

Hey, so right now i have two certs: security+ and cysa+. In my spare time i’ve been doing exercises on Tryhackme in order to gain skills on the side. Right now I work a help desk role but i don’t get enough security exposure there. I really want to get another job as a security analyst or soc in order to start my career in cyber. It just seems realllly tough to get an interview. I’ve only had ONE out of the many i’ve applied for and bombed it. It would be nice if i at least got interviews so I had a better idea of where I need to improve.

I’m debating getting the CISSP without the 5 years experience so I can be an “associate” or whatever, hoping that might help. I know I don’t have a cyber role to pivot from but i was hoping that highlighting my efforts to learn in my free time by my own volition would help me. I realize that the hardest part is to keep trying when your efforts feel like they aren’t going anywhere.

So I ask, what else can I do? Should I look for a different type of role? Is maybe learning too many things in tryhackme preventing me from learning an area in depth (such as networking)?
