I’ll do my best not to make a rant :)
I’ve about 10 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity. What I’ve been constantly observing is that most of the time managers lack the skills and knowledge to properly evaluate/grade their employees. And this seems to be true even at top companies such as FANG (structure might change though; it might not be the managers but the committee who does evaluation).
So, I’ve come to conclusion those who evaluate you must at least be twice as good as you, hence the title of this post. This is my 2nd cybersecurity job, and now I am thinking there must be a better option (no, not youtube).
