Hello!
I’ve been a front-end developer for 1 year and am planning to switch to the field of cybersec. I spoke to a few people and they suggested me to go for Ethical Hacking if I’m interested. I don’t want to join an institute and further spend a lot of money on that as the certification itself is costly. I bought an Ethical Hacking course on Udemy by Zaid Sabih last month. Since I am already working, I can spend up to 1-2 hours per day to study for it.
One of my seniors told me to do:
1. CCNA R and S
2. CompTIA Security+
3. CEH
4. CEH Practicals
in this order to start from scratch. Am I missing out on anything? A roadmap and if possible any free courses would really help.
Thanks!
That really depends on what area of Cybersecurity you have your interest in. Appsec? Web? Infrastructure? Offensive? Defensive? Networking?
CEH is a lightweight certification in my opinion, but for someone wanting to show they have intention and interest its a good start. If you are on the offensive side, go for OSCP instead.
