Question about Juice Jacking

I’ve noticed some strange things about my phone (android OS), which I just bought very recently, and I fear that some spyware might be installed; possibly through the shared chargers at work.

My question is: I know that some attacks can bypass the security when using the “charge only” option. (accessing ADB or such), but, if such an attack had happened, would the prompt of “do you want to allow data transfer” (that happens when you connect the phone to a computer) have popped anyways?

I mean: If I never saw the phone asking me to allow data transfer, it means that there was no attack or can it theoretically have happened without triggering it?

Thanks in advance.
