Question for Security Engineers

I recently accepted a position changing my career path from a GRC ISSO to a Security Engineer in higher Ed. I’m looking for some advice from current Security Engineers on what areas I should focus my studies on over the next couple weeks before I start. I’ve been spending a lot of time on O’Reilly (formerly known as Safari) studying Omar Santos’ CEH courses and researching his GitHub resources. I also plan on refreshing my knowledge in Bash, Python and Powershell. Other than that, what books, courses, videos, white papers, etc. might help?

My background:

5 years IT/Sysadmin
2 years ISSO
CISSP, CCNA R&S, CompTIA Trifecta, Project+, EC-Council CES/CHFI/CIH
