Security of VNC

I found [this article](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/dozens-of-vnc-vulnerabilities-found-in-linux-windows-solutions/) about flaws in VNC implementations, but just reading the article doesn’t really make me any wiser as to whether the flaws result in security problems with regard to

* running VNC servers exposed to the internet
* running VNC servers only exposed to the local network
* connecting to unknown VNC servers on the internet using a VNC client
* connection only to known, internal VNC servers on the local network using a VNC client

I’m running a few VNC servers on my local network, none of them are accessible from the internet. I connect to those using a VNC client on my laptop. Is there a danger to my servers? Is there a danger to my laptop?
