Security with WordPress/Wix/Squarespace

sorry if this is the wrong sub but –
say I created an e-commerce website with wordpress/wix/squarespace.. what are the chances that the website could be compromised and all the clients information (personal and financial) could be accessed? are those sites secure?

This might be better addressed by the eCommerce sites directly. I believe that it would be Wix’s (my favorite) fault unless it was your credentials that were breached because Wix handles all the backend stuff including the eCommerce. I believe this is unlikely. You could ask Wix directly.

When you say WordPress, are you referring your own deployment of WordPress or a managed WordPress installation?

WordPress is a tricky one, as it’s amazing what you get with a few plugins. The issue is that you *need* to keep up to date with patches and best practices.

Wix/square space are definitely better options, as they take care of everything. Yes it costs more, but from a security standpoint it’s much better to have their teams watching over your site
