So my company, in an attempt to resort to working from home, is looking to buy internet modem for Staff members to access office portals and data using OpenVPN.

I will like to know what dangers/risk this presents to our organisation’s cybersecurity, please?
This question doesn’t make sense and tells us that your company probably doesn’t understand the basics of networking. Your organization’s employees already have home modems (unless they have no Internet at all at home).
Can you rephrase your question? Maybe we don’t understand the question.
I don’t think you phrased the question correctly, are you looking for the best way to configure OpenVPN, you might just want to look at “OpenVPN Active Server” if you don’t know a lot about VPN’s: https://openvpn.net/vpn-server/
……an internet modem?…….you mean one of them there blinky boies we fill with internet fluid? you already sound in over your head no offense. you should contact your local IT company and let them help out / do it for you.
Is it your job to figure this out?

Edit: revised my comment
Are you a network administrator? What’s your position and experience with networking, exactly?

You can set up a server on AWS or Azure.
