SSCP or Security+ in Latam?

Hello

I’m working as a cybersecurity intern in a company, but they put me in the pentesting area despite I said I was expecting to be blue team. Although this, I’m still watching into Blue team and to do that my plan is to get certifications that get me into that side.

I’ve asked my boss and he always tells me to get the CEH, but I feel that cert is more for red team. So I did my reearch and found that Security+ and SSCP are good for Blue team foundationals.

However, as I’m living and working in Latam I don’t really know how good is the idea of getting this certs. Could you give me some feedback about this certs in our region?

tmtr:

Could you give me some feedback about how helpful could be the SSCP or Security+ to get a blue team job in latam?

Personally I think the CEH is completely and utterly bad, it’s got a horrible reputation (EC console is a joke)

SSCP isn’t really worth it cause it’s a stepping stone to the CISSP.

Id personally go get the security+ and when you get 4 years for exp get the CISSP.

One thing to consider too is you don’t wanna isolate certs such as this is more blue or red, as a blue teamer understanding how red team attacks (hackers) and being able to perform the attacks your self gives you the insight on how to prevent/guard against it.
