Hey all! There was pretty considerable interest yesterday in [a comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/cybersecurity/comments/odmck4/does_a_cyber_criminal_need_a_cissp_35_years_of/h41914k?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) I made about an upcoming opinion piece that I’m writing about hiring priorities in cybersecurity. Specifically, about how experience, degrees, certifications, specific tools, etc. are prioritized in the hiring process for **early-career** roles.
I think it’d be *much* more interesting to rely on surveyed data with a little more context/insight into priorities, instead of unscientifically picking anecdotes off Mentorship Monday threads and my personal experience. So if anyone is interested in giving a bit more detail what you have seen as a job-seeker, or what you are hiring for as a manager/recruiter, I’ve prepared a survey here: https://forms.gle/mm139pswy6EAgNy79
This survey should take under 5 minutes – I had a friend run through it and it took them 3 minutes. Of course, it is also completely anonymous, doesn’t require login/Google account/etc., does not save email or tracking info, and will not be used for commercial purposes. It also has a photo of my cat in it as a reward and bot-fighting mechanism ;)
Thank you! Happy to take feedback here or at the end of the survey!!
