Took a job for pentesting, ended up doing cloud security

And I hate it. Did a technical study and got my bachelors in computer science as well as CCNA 1 to 4 and CCNA security, but unfortunately had to take a cloud minor due to some issues at the school I was studying at. We had to do azure related stuff and I absolutely hated it, and swore to never do it again.

Now in my free time I started doing exploit development, htb and studying pentesting on my own budget and interest. I love it. So I found my first job out of school at a big consulting firm and they told me that I’d be pentesting, but now I’ve been put on an assignment where I have to work on engineering a secure cloud environment in azure. Luckily that’s only 3 days out my week, the 2 others are for automation.

But man, I hate these 3 days of the week. I’ve tried to get into it for almost 2 months now, but I just can’t. And I have to get these azure certificates as well, but can’t bring myself to study for it. I want to study breaking (into) stuff.

So here I am, feeling really down. Only started working 3 months ago. What can I do at this point, apply for other jobs?
