Trustworthyness of tools like Unite that create Desktop versions of web apps

Hi there!
So I’m considering using a tool like Unite ([https://www.bzgapps.com/unite](https://www.bzgapps.com/unite)) to create a desktop app shell of GMail for my Mac. This is mainly for convenience as I would prefer to Alt + Tab to an app rather than Chrome.

That said, I know how critical email is when it comes to security. Reset passwords, one time auth keys, etc are all sent to email.

So I’m concerned about the trustworthyness of Unite, or any other app for that matter, to not snoop my data.

What are the best practices in this community? Is this something I should simply avoid? Appreciate your thoughts.
