User account

Can an employee refuse to let his full name be set up for his account access .
I have a number of new users account am creating at work but a few of them refuse to let their full name to be used for account set up

You should take a look at your company’s policy and if you don’t find an answer then maybe ask your supervisor?
From my point of view there is no point to force the use of their full name unless you have to.

This is more a business policy question than anything else. From a security perspective, as long as I can tie an account to an individual, and only one individual, then I don’t care what the account is actually called, as long as it’s documented. I’ve had companies that let you specify what name you wanted to use for example selecting Jim rather than James, or use a middle name rather than first. A place I worked for even let people transitioning, use their preferred name rather than a legal or nick name, so it was a policy issue not any other issue.

Whatever way the company falls on it, it should have a straight forward policy that outlines it’s decision, so it doesn’t put you in the middle of it. Then whenever it comes up, you’ll be able to steer people to the policy, if it’s something they don’t agree with.
