I’m the CEO of a tech startup down in Miami Florida, and as our company grows it’s becoming clear that we need a better Cybersecurity team. So I put together a budget to hire a team of Penetration Testers that will test our company’s security full time.
I’ve had no trouble attracting applicants thus far, although since I have no background in penetration testing, I’m wondering what it is I should be looking for in applicants. For example, should certifications and IT experience with no degree hold more weight than someone who has a Computer Science degree? What does the ideal pen testing candidate look like?
I had no issues putting together a Software Engineering team since I have a background in Computer Science and am experienced with programming. Pen Testing however is something I don’t have any experience with at all. My CTO also has no experience with pen testing, so I’m hoping you all can lend some expertise.
And for anyone interested in this pen testing position, you can message me for more details. I and my CTO are directly responsible for all hires, no HR team yet.
