Long story short, these new requirements are extremely worrying, troublesome, and definitely unjustifiable. How do I keep my data safe, and if possible how do I rid myself of as many Facebook services as possible while remaining within the bounds of practicality? I use Instagram and Whatsapp as of now.

Move to a different platform with more encryption. Abandon WhatsApp to send a message.
