Which is better for the tech-illiterate, Kaspersky or ESET?

Hi, so my mum just bought a new computer (Windows 10), and is having me set it up for her. She doesn’t trust free antivirus, and thinks that paid=better. I can’t be bothered to explain.

While I personally use Bitdefender, it’s getting quite expensive where I live, and is also very hard to find. I rounded it up to either Kaspersky or ESET, knowing first-hand just how annoying McAfee and Norton are from the free trials bundled with other software.

Which one of these is more “install and forget” with the least amount of pop-ups. Of course, maintenance is not an issue, as I will be doing it for her.

I think you should go for Kaspersky. Although I didn’t used ESET but if Kaspersky is installed in your system you won’t even notice. It’s very lightweight and don’t show any unnecessary pop ups. But I think free and paid both are having same protection level rather than some extra features like cleaner and optimization which I don’t think that much important to have. For many months I used Free version of Kaspersky.
