I was thinking of this recently. I like to explore LinkdIn, Indeed etc. I check job postings in Europe and North America. There are so many more jobs in software. Why is this?
Same reason there’s more construction workers in the world than security guards. Everyone needs the tool (software or a building) but not everyone who has one cares about securing it
1 network can be used by thousands of programmers. That is the clearest answer.
Microsoft, Google and Amazon are good examples of this. So, basically, the ratio of programmers/software engineers/Computer Scientists to networks is probably pretty huge.
Btw, I mean networks as in a company may have 1 interconnected and branch-connected network, maybe more id they acquired companies and wanted to keep them separate. Virtual may be another story.
